After the 2007 communications campaign to urge citizens a limitare la velocità sulle strade, l’Amministrazione Comunale di Bari lancia una nuova iniziativa per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica, ed in particolare i giovani, all’importanza dell’uso del casco.

METTO IL CASCO, USO LA TESTA è la nuova campagna per la sicurezza stradale del Comune di Bari. La formula è semplice: chi verrà sanzionato per la guida senza casco, dopo aver pagato la multa prevista (pari a 70 euro) e al termine dei 60 giorni di fermo amministrativo del mezzo , al momento del ritiro del motoveicolo, riceverà in regalo un casco dello stesso valore commerciale della sanzione.

Si vuole così indurre chi ha tenuto una condotta contraria alle norme del codice della strada al rispetto delle regole, investendo la somma che il cittadino multato versa al Comune nell’acquisto di questo fondamentale strumento di protezione.

È un’iniziativa unica in Italia , che il Comune di Bari sperimenta nella convinzione che ogni sforzo utile a richiamare l’attenzione sui temi della sicurezza stradale rivesta un’importanza primaria.
La campagna partirà da lunedì 7 luglio 2008.

LA NORMA
(Art. 171 Codice della Strada) La sanzione per guida senza casco prevede una multa di 70 euro ed il fermo amministrativo del motoveicolo per 60 giorni.
I VERBALI
Nel 2007 sono stati 500 i verbali redatti dalla Polizia Municipale per guida senza casco in città. Nel 2008 (dato aggiornato al 27 maggio) sono già 200.
GLI INCIDENTI
Nel 2007 sono stati 984 gli incidenti che hanno coinvolto motociclette e ciclomotori in città. Nel 2008 (dato aggiornato al 30 giugno) sono stati 475. Tra questi, alcuni sono stati gravissimi. Dallo scorso anno ad oggi, sette cittadini sono morti e per quattro di loro è stato accertato che la causa del decesso è legata al mancato utilizzo del casco.
